Coronavirus: Police And Fire Offering Small Parades For Birthdays

Northbrook's police and fire departments will be conducting special parades of emergency vehicles for children's birthdays.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The police and fire departments of Northbrook are offering a special birthday present for families unable to throw birthday parties for their children due to Gov. JB Pritzker's stay-at-home order made in response to the coronavirus pandemic. For the duration of the emergency order, the departments will conduct special birthday parades of police and fire vehicles, the village announced via Facebook on Monday.

These special events will be offered between 11 a.m. and noon Monday through Friday through the duration of the order, which will be in effect at least through the end of the month.

Police and fire departments also encourage a suggested donation of $15 to the Northfield Township Food Pantry during the coronavirus pandemic.
