Boil Order In Effect For Northbrook Homes After Main Breaks

NORTHBROOK, IL — The village of Northbrook alerted residents via Nixle alert and social media Tuesday morning of low water pressure throughout town. Staff later reported that the pressure was a result of water main breaks on a portion of the water distribution system, which were resolved Tuesday afternoon. As a precaution, 27 homes along Cherry Lane were put under a boil order.

Affected residences are being notified by public works officials directly, according to a Facebook post from the village Tuesday. All other residents don't have to take boil order precautions. Visit the village of Northbrook website for a list of affected homes under the boil order.

Northbrook public works officials could not be reached for comment Tuesday morning.
