Northbrook Biz Owner Is Generous'Trendsetter': Patch Community Leader

Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to recognize these often unsung community leaders and celebrate their contributions.

What does this community leader do?

Mike is the Founder and CFO of Mosaic Construction and its affiliate brands, Design Construction Concepts and Cannabis Facility Construction. Mike brings a wealth of diverse operational and financial management experience to Mosaic Construction which is critical to the Team’s culture and growth. Mike focuses on people, data, process improvement and setting goals that benefit the company and the company’s clients. Previously, Mike worked as a Senior Trader and Market-Maker for a prominent options trading firm. Prior to that, he served as District Manager for Burger King, supervising the management at four locations in Sacramento, CA. In 1993, he founded Botta Capital Management, operating as President, COO and Executive Management Member. Mike earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a Minor in Agricultural Economics from the University of California at Davis and is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa society, graduating with Highest Honors. Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored?

Mike’s generosity is constantly on display as he gives of his time, resources, expertise, knowledge, experiences, and finances. Mike is always available for those who need support, advice, and help. He is a trendsetter, an innovator, a role model, a mentor, and a hero to so many. He makes the world a better place by bringing his energy and passion to the people and organizations that he cares about. He lifts people up, therefore helping those in need and creating in them the best version of themselves. He is a philanthropist, entrepreneur, and community leader, but above all, he is devoted and fiercely loyal to his friends and family across the local community, the country, and several international communities. Mike has positively impacted so many people’s lives which shows up daily in making the world a better place.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?

The son of a rabbi, Mike experienced antisemitism as a child and young adult, and through the lens of his father, a social justice warrior, he grew up knowing that hate has no place in our world. Mike is passionate about equality and fairness; he will defend the disadvantaged and fight with every ounce of his being to eliminate those who are bullied or threatened unjustly. Mike is a champion for good in the world, he is a megaphone for those who don’t have a voice and leverages his Rolodex of relationships to help those who don’t have resources to protect and defend those in need.
