Open House Celebrates Greenbriar’s 75th Anniversary In Northbrook

Current students will perform a new song composed especially for the occasion, scheduled for Saturday at the school.

NORTHBROOK, IL — Greenbriar School will be celebrated Saturday for its 75th anniversary in a special event at the school. Residents and alumni are invited to participate in the event that runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

According to District 28, attendees will have a chance to "take a walk down memory lane" with historical photos, a time capsule display, a selfie station, and a self-guided tour. There are also keepsakes available for purchase, including a 75th anniversary cookbook with recipes from across the decades from the Greenbriar community. Hard copies and e-books will be for sale with proceeds benefiting Education For All Children, a nonprofit organization that helps fund education in Kenya, including District 28's sister school, Spurgeon’s Academy.

Greenbriar alumni are encouraged to help build a historical display by submitting photos of their years at Greenbriar by posting to the Greenbriar 75th Anniversary Facebook page or emailing to Greenbriar’s Share A Memory.
