NORTHBROOK, IL — Without community leaders, Northbrook wouldn’t hum along nearly as smoothly as it does. We’d miss their contributions in big and small ways.

Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to recognize these often unsung community leaders and celebrate their contributions.

What does this community leader do?

Andy Poticha is the founder and CEO of Mosaic Construction and its affiliate brands, Design Construction Concepts and Cannabis Facility Construction. Andy has more than 30+ years of sales, client management, trade and supplier negotiation, system development, and production process management experience. From an early age, Andy knew he wanted to become an architect, and he would harness that passion through the creation of Design Construction Concepts (DCC) in 1991. Shortly after DCC’s formation, Andy quickly realized that there were General Contractors were not providing the communication, customer service, and quality that were needed to provide a best-in-class client experience. Andy began managing construction projects which resulted in referrals and repeat business which fueled DCC to grow its brand and provide design/build services for small and large scale residential and commercial projects. Andy earned his Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies and a Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois. Andy has devoted his personal time and efforts to several important charitable causes and organizations. His community leadership, industry designations, and professional affiliations include:1. Jewish Child and Family Services - Former Board Member, Executive Board Member, and Vice Chair 2. Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center - Executive Board Member, and Chair of the Building Committee 3. JUF Facilities Corporation Board Member 4. Advisor to Bright Star Church on Bronzeville Dream Center

Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored?

Andy is a leader as well as a strategic planner, a problem solver a trendsetter and an innovator. Andy serves as a role model and mentor to many people within the community and is interested in helping organizations increase their visibility in order to accomplish their mission. Andy is dedicated to making a difference in his local community and is committed to helping others by sharing his time and his talents. He is generous with his resources, his expertise, and his knowledge. Andy is a stakeholder and is dedicated to making his community and the world a better place through his service and hard work which have a direct impact on helping the organizations that he supports. His actions help ensure success which results in long-lasting impact on the overall community. Andy focuses on relationships and looks to build alliances to further the mission to create new opportunities for visibility and growth.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?

Andy is focused on results and teamwork, which means setting goals and checking in regularly to measure them and make adjustments as needed. He is a collaborative teacher and mentor who has fostered a can-do mindset leading to the development of new leaders and supporters within the community.
