Severe Weather Cancels Events In Northbrook

Activities at Village Hall and local schools have been cancelled due to Tuesday's winter weather advisory.

NORTHBROOK, IL — Severe winter weather has led to cancellations of Tuesday evening events in Northbrook. A winter weather advisory has been issued for the area as more than 3 inches of new snow accumulation is possible.

At Village Hall, the Public Works Committee meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and the regular Board of Trustees meeting scheduled for 7:30 p.m. have both been cancelled. The committee meeting will be rescheduled to a later date, and the next meeting of the village board is scheduled for Feb. 12, according to village officials.

At Northbrook Junior High, all after-school sports and activities are canceled, while elementary school clubs and activities in District 28 are continuing as scheduled. In District 27, all after-school activities at Wood Oaks are canceled for, including the planned band concert. Additionally, the Northbrook Public Library closed early at 4 p.m.

A special board meeting of the Glenbrook District 225 board previously scheduled for Tuesday night had already been cancelled and rescheduled to Wednesday at 7 p.m. The only action listed on the agenda is "possible action regarding topics discussed in closed session," with exemptions cited ranging from discipline, real estate, security, personnel and litigation.
