NORTHBROOK, IL — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

Catherine is a sophomore at Glenbrook North High School
Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Catherine donated 100 protective eyewear frames and 250 replacement lens to Northwestern Memorial Hospital to help protecting frontline medical professionals. She also led a fundraising event on behalf of Super Joey Foundation and donated boxes of much needed supplies to Ronald McDonald House in Chicago. She created mission statement, designed logo and setup Facebook page for local Glenbrook Chinese American Community. She helped with free mask drop off to local seniors and mask donation to local first responders
What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
Kindness is a choice. Catherine chooses to be kind because she cares about others and our community
