Woman, Dog Killed In Metra Train Crash: Authorities

GLENCOE, IL — A Glencoe woman was fatally hit by a Metra train over the weekend, according to authorities, who said a dog was also found dead at the scene.

Authorities identified the victim Sunday as 48-year-old Daniella V. Weisman.

Emergency personnel responded around 9:30 a.m. Saturday to a report of a person struck by a train in the area of Green Bay and Maple Hill roads in Glencoe, according to authorities. Weisman was pronounced dead at the scene.

She had been crossing the tracks heading west before the arrival of a southbound Metra train, authorities said. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office classified the death as an accident.
