DuPage Senior Citizens Council (DSCC) has opened Community Dining at Downers Grove Township's Senior Center.
DuPage Senior Citizens Council (DSCC) has opened Community Dining at Downers Grove Township's Senior Center. Seniors living in DuPage County are welcome to attend and dine with other local seniors for lunch. Community Dining provides local seniors with a place to connect with one another and enjoy a meal together.
New DSCC Community Dining locations have begun to open up again since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Eating together allows for seniors to improve their mood and social skills through personal connections with one another. Partnering with Downers Grove Township has provided the opportunity to reach more local seniors in and around the Downers Grove area who are interested in gathering for Community Dining.
Community Dining in Downers Grove is located at the Downers Grove Township Center at 4341 Saratoga Avenue Downers Grove, IL 60515. Lunch is provided by DSCC and is served every Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 am to 12 pm. The meal is free for seniors aged 60 and older, although DSCC does ask for a suggested donation of $5.00 or more. Anyone under the age of 60 who attends is expected to pay the full cost of the meal.
