Advocate Christ Ranks 4th In IL On US News 2025 Best Hospitals List

OAK LAWN, IL – Advocate Health Care landed as a national leader on U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals rankings released Tuesday. The health system was honored with eight national ranked adult specialties, and six Advocate Health Care hospitals were ranked among the best hospitals in the state.

Advocate Christ Medical Center, of Oak Lawn, was nationally recognized in an impressive six specialties, ranking 14th in obstetrics and gynecology, 23rd in cardiology and heart surgery, 42nd in diabetes and endocrinology, 43rd in pulmonary and lung surgery, 46th in geriatrics and 49th in gastroenterology and GI surgery. In addition, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital ranked 37th in orthopedics and 37th in pulmonary and lung surgery.

Advocate Health Care hospitals recognized in the statewide ranking were:

• Advocate Christ Medical Center, Oak Lawn, Ill., ranked No. 4

• Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, Ill., ranked No. 6

• Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington, Ill., ranked No. 11 (tie)

• Advocate Trinity Hospital, Chicago, Ill., ranked No. 17 (tie)

• Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove, Ill., ranked No. 17 (tie)

• Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, Ill., ranked No. 17 (tie)

Advocate Health Care is home to the most ranked hospitals on U.S. News & World Report’s statewide rankings in Illinois. In addition, Advocate Christ Medical Center and Advocate Trinity Hospital were named “Best Regional Hospitals for Community Access,” which are hospitals top-rated for caring for patients in all socioeconomic groups in the community while maintaining a high level of care.

In all, Charlotte-based Advocate Health, of which Advocate Health Care is part, has 29 award-winning hospitals on U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-26 Best Hospitals list for adult specialties. In addition, the enterprise has 31 “High Performing” specialty designations signifying top 10 percent performance and 209 “High Performing” procedures and conditions.

While 2025-2026 “Best Children’s Hospitals” rankings will be shared later this year, Advocate Children’s Hospital was most recently recognized with a national ranking in cardiology and heart surgery in pediatrics.

U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals across 15 adult specialties and 22 procedures and conditions; only one third of them earned an award. To determine the Best Hospitals, U.S. News analyzed each hospital’s performance based on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and level of nursing care.
