Chicago Ridge Farmers Market Features Vendors, Music, Food Select Saturdays At The Mall

CHICAGO RIDGE, IL — The Chicago Ridge Farmers Market is making a comeback this summer for two Saturdays a month through October. The farmers market’s grand opening is this Saturday, May 31, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., between Chick-Fil-A and Chili’s at Chicago Ridge Mall, 9600 S. Ridgeland Ave.

Shoppers will find a wide range of vendors, with produce and plant vendors to be added later this summer. The farmers market runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – rain or shine – on the following Saturdays: May 31, June 14, June 28, July 26, Aug. 9, Aug. 23, Sept. 6, Sept. 20 and Oct. 4.

“We are always looking for fresh produce vendors who can jump on board any time,” said planning committee member Elaine Davenport said. “We have significant momentum and there is great encouragement for more produce in the upcoming season.”

The Chicago Ridge Farmers Market features a wide selection of artisan treats, local goods and live music, with the Jacie Jean and Travelin’ Dan acoustic duo kicking off the season this Saturday. Father Chris Avramopoulos of St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church will be offering a pet blessing at 10 a.m. June 28. Featured vendors include:

“The first year, like many projects, is a labor of love,” Davenport said. “But now that the pieces have come together, we are confident we will grow immeasurably from here. Onward and upward.”
