HOMETOWN, IL — Join the Mercy Mosque of Hometown for a spectacular celebration of food, entertainment and cultural diversity this Saturday, July 26. Halal Fest runs from noon to 6 p.m. at 8925 S. Kostner Ave.

The family-friendly fest includes delicious Halal food, exciting entertainment, cultural booths and sweet treats available for purchase. Kids’ activities feature rides, a petting zoo and pony rides.

Admission is free, but there is a small fee for the rides, ponies and other attractions. The Halal Fest is hosted by the mosque and the American Halal Institute where Muslim and non-Muslim neighbors, can “come together, embrace diversity, and rejoice in the spirit of unity, gratitude, and joy.”
