Free Comics, Dungeons & Dragons, Legos, Raffles And More Featured At OLPL 2025 Fan Fest
The Oak Lawn Public Library will host the popular Fan Fest featuring all genres of pop culture Saturday, May 10 for cosplay, comics and more
OAK LAWN, IL — Get in touch with your inner nerd this Saturday, May 10, at the Oak Lawn Public Library’s ninth annual Fan Fest, featuring a fun day of pop culture and free comics. All ages are invited to Fan Fest, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at OLPL, 9427 S. Raymond Ave.
Fans can kick off the free event by checking in at the welcome table to receive a gift while supplies last. An exhibit hall featuring local artists, vendors, writers and collectors opens when OLPL Fan Fest 2025 starts at 10 a.m.
For entertainment, the Society for Creative Anachronism will give a fencing demonstration at 12:15 p.m., Chicago performance company Raks Geek will perform a renaissance-themed dance at 1 p.m., WindyCityLUG will work on a Lego build throughout the day in Youth Services, and Dan the Bard will serenade attendees.

Local cosplay guests DCWBuilds, Lucky Elephant Cosplay and ANDCosplay will lead a panel on the basics of costuming, prop creation and how to get into the craft of cosplay at 11 a.m. This trio will also judge the adult/young adult and youth cosplay competitions at 2 p.m.
There will be free comic books, D&D miniature painting, crafts, activity tables, scavenger hunts, costumed volunteers from the 501st Legion, an all-day photo booth, Dungeons and Dragons sessions, fortune-telling, quidditch matches, prizes and more.

Fans will receive two free raffle tickets for dozens of prizes, including a Nintendo Switch Console, a 32-inch HD 720p Amazon Fire TV, passes to the Bristol Renaissance Faire, books, bundles, quill pens, Squishmallow, Legoland Discovery Center passes and more! Participants will receive another ticket from completing RenQuest, one of the scavenger hunts offered at the event.
Free Comic Book Day comics for this event are provided by Blerds Underground, 15 1/2 LaGrange Road, La Grange. OLPL Fan Fest 2025 is presented by the Friends of the Oak Lawn Library and sponsored by Marquette Bank, Midwest Tape, Mendez Family McDonald’s, Galloping Ghost Arcade, Paisans Pizzeria, La Rosa Escobedo, and Dream Clean Carwash.
