Play Town Kids Area To Be Unveiled Saturday at Chicago Ridge Mall

CHICAGO RIDGE, IL — The new PlayTown Kids Area at Chicago Ridge Mall will celebrate its grand opening this Saturday, July 12, with a ribbon cutting and activities from noon to 3 p.m.

The newest addition to the mall is inspired by the Village of Chicago Ridge, and designed as a colorful, interactive space designed for play, imagination, and community connection. The 43 X 43-foot play area includes Chicago Ridge monuments, such as the train station, the water tower and much more. Kids can play on a train, the Chicago Ridge water tower, barrels and many other interesting things to explore.

PlayTown is located inside the mall in front of La Michoacana and Zippy Toys. The grand features loads of FREE family-friendly fun activities like balloon twisting, face painting and a DJ. Raffle giveaways, schwag and treats will be handed out while supplies last.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 1 p.m., followed by kids exploring the play area for the first time. Families can also visit with community partners, including the Village of Chicago Ridge, the fire department, Girl Scouts, OSF HealthCare, Chick-fil-A, Cilantro, Bank Financial and more.

To celebrate the opening of PlayTown, a custom-made Chicago Ridge Mall coloring book with facts about the Village of Chicago Ridge and the center will be given to little folks while supplies last.
