Applications Open To March Oak Lawn Independence Day Parade, Date Set For Parade, Concert
Applications are open to march in the Oak Lawn Independence Day Parade and post-concert featuring Charles and Company Saturday, June 28.

OAK LAWN, IL — It’s hard to believe that the Fourth of July is only a month away. The Village of Oak Lawn has set Saturday, June 28, as the date for the Independence Day Parade and post-parade concert featuring Charles and Company on the village green. The festivities come courtesy of the Oak Lawn Arts and Events Commission.
Floats, decorated vehicles, walkers, bikes, and anything that provides music and entertainment to the hundreds of people who line the parade route along 95th Street are invited to march in the parade. There will be a maximum of 75 parade entries. No applications will be accepted once the parade is full.
Applications can be found online on the village website. There is no fee to participate in the parade.
The Oak Lawn Independence Day Parade steps off at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 28. The parade begins at 95th Street and 49th Avenue, proceeding westbound to 95th Street and 55th Court. The street will be closed to traffic on 95th Street from Cicero to Central Avenue from 2 to 6 p.m.

Oak Lawn Mayor Terry Vorderer encourages all residents to take part in the festivities.
“The 4th of July parade is a cherished tradition that brings our community together in celebration of independence, unity, and pride,” the mayor said. “I invite all residents to join us in honoring this special day and making cherished memories with friends and family.”

Immediately following the parade, everyone is invited to continue the festivities with a free concert starting at 6 p.m. on the Village Green. The evening will feature Charles and Company, seasoned musicians who will energize the crowd with a great mix of music, keeping the festivities going.
Concert-goers can also enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities, including:
• Bounce houses
• Face painting
• Balloon artists
• Paisans Pizza
Then on July 4, the Oak Lawn Park District will be blasting off fireworks at Richards High School, 106th Street and Central Avenue. The ‘works blast off at dusk.
