OAK LAWN, IL — AP Language and Composition is not only a class that continually challenges students to improve upon their writing skills but also encourages and brings out our students unique creativity and critical thinking skills. Recently the AP Language and Composition students embarked on an analysis of the rhetoric of George Orwell’s 1984.

The students dived deep into this one and created a one pager that encapsulated their analysis, argumentation and synthesis skills all in one! The students made connections to outside sources, developed an understanding of the arguments Orwell made in his cautionary tale, all while using their creative talents. Their one pagers capture the full picture of their learning experience. Our Spartan students are impressive in their artistic expression of this challenging text.
