OAK LAWN-ALSIP, IL — An IDOT street resurfacing project is in the works for Cicero Avenue in Oak Lawn and Alsip that begins June 27. Resurfacing will take place from 95th Street (U.S. 12/U.S. 20) in Oak Lawn to 123rd Place in Alsip.

The work also includes ADA improvements to curbs, gutters and sidewalk ramps and will require daily lane closures, with traffic controlled by flaggers. The $5.4 million project is expected to be complete in 2026.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Alternate routes are encouraged. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
