Stolen Ambulance Chased Down in I-294
The woman behind the wheel was finally stopped near Alsip after a 90-minute joyride Tuesday morning.

A woman led police on a high-speed chase from Taylor Street in Chicago to I-294 Tuesday morning after taking an ambulance from the UIC Medical Center. The ambulance was taken around 6:30 a.m. State Police say the chase began around 7:35 a.m. and ended just before 8 a.m. in Alsip near 127th Street on the tollway.
The ambulance is owned by Medical Express Ambulance Services in Skokie.
