Arrest Warrant Issued For Second Suspect In Armed Oak Lawn Home Invasion: Police
Oak Lawn police have arrested a suspect in an armed home invasion in May. An arrest warrant has been issued for a second suspect.

OAK LAWN, IL — One of the suspects alleged to have forced his way into an Oak Lawn home and then held the homeowner at gunpoint while he and an accomplice robbed his house has been charged in the incident.
Jamaal Stevens, 27, has been charged with home invasion and is currently being held at Cook County Jail, police said. He was taken into custody on July 8, Oak Lawn police said.
His cohort, identified by police as 32-year-old Alonso Gause, of Chicago, remains at large.

Stevens and Gause, are accused of forcing their way into a home near 90th Street and Sproat Avenue in broad daylight the afternoon of May 7. The homeowner told police the pair kicked in his back door. As one of the two went around the house stealing items, the other held the homeowner at gunpoint, police said.

At the time, both were believed to have fled in a newer black Ford Ranger. Images of the vehicle from neighborhood home surveillance cameras were released by police.

Following a months’ long investigation, Stevens was arrested and charged. The Ford Ranger has also been located, and Oak Lawn police are in the process of seizing it through the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Asset Forfeiture Unit.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Gause for home invasion, whose last known address is in the 11500 block of South Aberdeen in Chicago. Police say Gause has a history of robbery, assault and weapons offenses. Anyone who sees Gause or knows his whereabouts, is asked to call 911 and/or the Oak Lawn Police Department Detective Division at 708-907-4051, or text tips to 708-613-TIPS (8477). Tipsters may remain anonymous.
