On Wednesday morning, Alvarado was being placed under arrest for disorderly conduct in Bedford Park, when police there said he jumped into one of their patrol cars and took off. Alvarado is believed to have driven around the Chicago Ridge and Park Lawn areas until the police vehicle became disabled remotely.

Alvarado is then alleged to have carjacked a USPS truck in Oak Lawn, forcibly taking the vehicle from a postal worker. Last Wednesday afternoon, Bridgeview police said the Alvarado was speeding northbound on Roberts Road, when he slammed into a car driven by a mother with her two children in the back seat. Both children were in child safety seats. Photos circulating social media showed the back end of the mother’s car completely crushed.
