ORLAND PARK, IL — Two Chicago men and a Crete woman have been arrested in connection with the March 2024 shooting death of a 28-year-old Chicago woman.

On March 20, Orland Park police were called to the area of 17000 Pond Willow Drive for numerous reports of shots fired in the area. Police discovered a 2020 Nissan Maxima with multiple bullet holes parked on the side of the roadway. Inside the vehicle, police found the lone occupant, Mechellea Williams, 28, dead with multiple gunshot wounds. The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force was activated and immediately began to investigate.

After months of exhaustive and innovative investigation, the Orland Park Police Department was able to develop enough probable cause to arrest three people in connection with murder, the department said Wednesday. The Cook County State's Attorney’s Office approved warrants for Kiraun Williams, 29, for first degree murder, Tyshann Boyd, 28, for possession of a stolen motor vehicle and Alexis Hernandez, 20, for obstructing justice.
