Back To School: Orland Park 2021-22 School Calendar

ORLAND PARK, IL — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Orland Park, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Orland School District 135, Community Consolidated School District 146, and Consolidated High School District 230.

The first day of school for students in D135 is Aug. 25, D146 is Aug. 26. For Carl Sandburg High School students in D230, freshman students will begin on Aug. 13, and the entire student body will be welcomed back on Aug. 16.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. A mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning is still possible in Orland Park schools.

Masking policies are still being discussed in Orland school districts. The Illinois Federation of Teachers and Cook County Department of Public Health announced Wednesday its endorsement of guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Illinois Department of Public Health calling for universal masking in schools, regardless of vaccination status.

Winter Break: Dec. 21 - Jan. 4

Spring Break: March 21 - March 25

Last Day: June 6, if no emergency days are used.

Community Consolidated School District, 146

First Day: Aug. 26

Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 24-26

Winter Break: Dec. 23 - Jan. 10

Spring Break: March 21 - March 25

Last Day: June 7

Carl Sandburg High School, D230

First Day: Aug. 13 or Aug. 16

Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 24-26

Winter Break: Dec. 22 - Jan. 6

Spring Break: March 21 -March 25

Last Day: May 26
