Centennial Water Park Lifeguard Tests Positive for Covid-19
Centennial Park Aquatic Center closes for sanitation and disinfection after a lifeguard tested positive for coronavirus.
ORLAND PARK, IL — A Centennial Park Aquatic Center (CPAC) lifeguard tested positive for COVID-19, according to a news release. The water park will be closed on Aug. 13 to disinfect and sanitize the location, as an abundance of caution, stated in the release.
The lifeguard was last in the building on Aug. 9, and followed appropriate social distancing guidelines, according to the news release. The village said the facility continues to practice social distancing.
In response to this news, the village has decided to implement guidelines set forth by the CDC, and the employee who tested positive is self-quarantining. The village also hired a cleaning company to sanitize the premises.

The water park had opened again on July, 2 for the public after the CDC announced workplace safety guidelines. The village also distributed gloves, masks and hand sanitizer to all employees. In addition to this, the village also took implemented daily temperature checks, remote meetings and social distancing, according to the news release.
The village also stated the safety of residents, customers, and employees continue to be the foremost priority for the Village of Orland Park.
