Chicago Woman Charged With 3 Retail Thefts In 3 Weeks: Orland PD
Police said Rashieda Saunders, 29, who was on electronic monitoring for a prior Orland theft, partook in two more thefts just weeks later.

ORLAND PARK, IL — The Orland Park Police Department arrested a Chicago woman on electronic monitoring after police said she and two other women stole over $9,000 of merchandise from Macy's, located at 1 Orland Square Drive. Rashieda Saunders, 29, of Chicago, had three warrants out for her arrest for three different incidents in under one month, according to police.
Police opened an investigation in early June after authorities said three women stole around $5,000 of merchandise from the Orland Mall store on May 23 and around $4,000 worth of items on June 3. According to police, the three women filled up two garbage bags of clothing on both dates before fleeing the store.
Police said they were able to immediately identify Saunders, who was arrested back in May in connection with a similar retail theft at Dick’s Sporting Goods. Police said one of the other women involved was Anasia Starks, 18, of Riverdale, calling her an accomplice of Saunders. Starks is currently wanted by police.

According to police, Saunders was on electronic monitoring in connection with the prior theft at Dick's Sporting Goods when she committed the Macy's thefts, just days later. Police said that when investigators were ready to take Saunders into custody for the thefts, they found out she was back in Cook County Jail for violating the terms of her electronic monitoring. But before investigators could charge her, Saunders had already been re-released from Cook County Jail, again on electronic monitoring.
On Thursday, with the assistance of Cook County Sherriff’s Crime Suppression Unit, Saunders was taken into custody at her home and charged with two felony counts of retail theft, police said. On Friday, Saunders was transported to the Bridgeview Courthouse where she was held without bond.
