Confirmed Cases Top 50: Latest Orland Park Coronavirus Updates

Here are the latest local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Orland Park.

ORLAND PARK, IL — As of April 7, there are now 67 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Orland Park, according to a map published by the Cook County Department of Public Health. The local case count went up by 20 in three days.

Confirmed cases in nearby towns include 61 in Country Club Hills, 48 in Tinley Park and 34 in Oak Forest. So far, statewide 73 deaths were reported in a 24-hour span while the total case count is more than 12,000.

ARCpoint Labs, a lab in Orland Park, is offering coronavirus antibody testing for $55 a test. Originally available only to first responders, members of the public can schedule times to be tested for antibodies that would normally show up in a person's body when they contract the new coronavirus.

Schools remain closed as the state has shifted to e-learning and restaurants and bars remain barred from offering dine-in services. Many local restaurants are offering takout, curbside and delivery options.

Good deeds are continuing to come in amid this crisis. Locally, an Orland Hills girl scout troop donated several cookie boxes to workers at Palos and Loyola hospitals. Managers at staff at all Cooper's Hawk restaurants, of which the very first was right here in Orland Park, have put together an effort to feed their employees two meals a day.
