D230 To Move Back To In-Person Instruction Next Week
District 230 will be going back to class at 25-percent capacity starting Sept. 28.

ORLAND PARK, IL — Consolidated High School District 230 will be moving to stage 2 of its D230Proud Reopening Plan on Monday, Sept. 28, according to Superintendent Dr. James M. Gay.
Stage 2 of the plan means that Sandburg, Stagg and Andrew high schools will allow up to 25 percent of students back on campus, with blended on-site and remote schedules. Schedules will be divided into four segments and families who choose to remain fully remote may continue to do so with the same schedule they initially had, according to the superintendent.
The decision to move on to the next reopening stage comes as the 14-day positivity rate trends in the region continue to decrease, according to the superintendent. The district monitors positivity cases through the Cook County Department of Public Health and Northwestern Medicine reporting.

"It is important that we all take shared responsibility in assuring this is a smooth and safe transition back to campus," Gay said in an email to parents and students. "Our schools have established necessary safety protocols following the Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines. Personal Protective Equipment, safety accommodations, and cleaning supplies are in place at the schools."
The superintendent went on to say he is appreciative of the effort students and families put into self-screenings, properly wearing masks, social distancing and washing hands regularly.
