Drinking On St. Patrick's Day? Stay Safe, Orland Police Warn
A green beer or two may be fine to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, but Orland police say play it safe. "Don't be a statistic," they're warning.
ORLAND PARK, IL â St. Patrick's Day is around the corner, and while most of us will get a little Irish on, Orland Park's police are warning to stay safe amid the revelry.
A look at a four-year span between 2013 and 2014 showed that 44 percent of people who were killed in drunk-driving accidents were people ages 21 to 34 years old.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that in 2016 alone, 60 people died in drunk-driving accidents during St. Patrick's Day weekend celebrations.

Police are warning those who celebrate with green beer or Jameson's to be careful.
"Don't be a statistic for 2019," the department warned its social media followers.
