The Edge Fitness Clubs Opening At Old Sports Authority

The Orland Hills location will open this December. It's the second to appear in the Chicagoland area.

ORLAND HILLS, IL — The Edge Fitness Clubs, headquartered in Orange, CT, announced they will be opening the doors to their second Chicago area location in December.

The gym will be located at 9291 W. 159th St., Orland Hills, next to Walmart in the old Sports Authority location, according to a news release from the club. Sports Authority closed its 11 Illinois stores in 2016 after filing for bankruptcy.

The brand-new club welcomes new members with 40,000 square feet of premium amenities. Edge Fitness members can enjoy dynamic, state-of-the-art equipment, personal training, group exercise classes, women’s only area and amenities at prices that fit any budget, the release states.

The Edge Fitness Clubs offers amenities, including:

Founding members can join the Orland Hills location for as low as $9.99 per month. Presale activity starts on Saturday, Sept. 18 at The Edge Preview Center at 9291 W. 159th Street across the plaza from where the club will open.
