Ex-Jerling Teacher Accused of Molesting Girls Plans to Wed
Cara Labus asked a judge to let her stay out late in her own back yard for her wedding reception.

A former coach and teacher accused of sexually abusing two Orland Park junior high students asked a judge to let her stay outside in her own back yard for her own wedding reception.
Cara Labus, 31, of Joliet, whoâs on home monitoring, will be allowed outside until 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, a Cook County judge decided Tuesday, despite the objections of prosecutors.
Labus was arrested in January and accused of abusing two girls between the ages of 14 and 16 from 2008 to 2011 while she was a teacher and basketball coach at Jerling Junior High School. Sheâs charged with four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Labus taught at Jerling from 2006 to 2010.
