A blaze that damaged a house in Orland Township Tuesday night spared a family home when it ignited.
No one was injured during the fire in the 14800 block of Oak Creek Drive. An official told Patch the flames were contained to the one bedroom.
A family was home when the fire ignited and wad able to call 911 at about 9:12 p.m.
The cause of the fire does not appear to be suspicious, said Battalion Chief Bill Bonnar of the Orland Park Fire Protection District. Investigators can take up to two hours following a fire to determine a cause.
"They're trying to reconstruct the room where the fire occurred," Bonnar said. Investigators will return furniture and other items in the room to their original positions to figure how it sparked.
One family member who spoke briefly with Patch said the fire could have started from an electrical problem.
