Rossi has been with the department for almost 20 years, officials said, and will take over for former Chief Joseph Mitchell.

ORLAND PARK, IL — Former Deputy Police Chief Eric Rossi was approved unanimously by the Orland Park Board of Trustees to take over as chief of Orland Park Police Monday.

According to village officials, Rossi has worked his way up the ranks, beginning as a patrol officer and moving up to become an investigator, commander and finally deputy.
