Forum To Feature Candidates For District 135 Board Of Education

The event will be held Thursday, March 13 and will be moderated by the League of Women Voters.

ORLAND PARK, IL — A candidate forum set for Thursday, March 13 will give voters a chance to learn about the candidates for Orland District 135.

The forum will be hosted by the Orland District 135 Parents for Education, and moderated by the League of Women Voters. All candidates have been invited to attend, according to a release from the Orland District 135 Parens for Education.

On April 1, ten candidates will vy for spots on the Orland District 135 Board of Education. Incumbents Nichole Browner and Elizabeth Jobb will seek to retain their seats. Other candidates include Deborah L. Scumaci, Aisha Zayyad, Jennifer Durkin-Fekete, Ray Morandi, Chad Capps, Vince Oluwaleke, Kelly Chmielewski, and Daniel Finlayson. Board members serve a four-year term.

The forum will be held at the Orland Jr. High Gymnasium, 14855 West Ave. at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 13. Confirmed to be in attendance Thursday are candidates Nichole M Browner, Kelly Chmielewski, Jennifer Durkin-Fekete, Daniel Finlayson, Elizabeth Jobb, Vince Oluwaleke, and Aisha Zayyad.

"This is one of the best opportunities for voters to learn more about the school board candidates," the District Parents For Education said.
