Kitchen Flames Spark Apartment Fire In Orland Park

Nobody was hurt, according to the Orland Fire Protection District.

ORLAND PARK, IL — A fire broke out in an Orland Park kitchen Monday night around 6:30 p.m., according to the Orland Fire Protection District. Nobody was hurt.

Fire officials responded to 9023 Franklin, the second floor of the east unit in the apartment building. According to the OFPD, the homeowner was preparing food for dinner on the stove when the fire occurred.

The flames spread from the second floor, throughout the building. Some officials were tasked with removing tenants safely, while others quickly brought the fire under control.

OFPD said crews from Palos and Tinley Park also assisted in the rescue efforts. Once the flames were put out, residents were allowed back inside.
