Kitchen Flash Fire In Orland Hills Sends 1 To Hospital
A flash fire ignited from an oven at a home in Orland Hills' Hunter Ridge Apartments on Monday.

ORLAND HILLS, IL â A flash fire that erupted from a kitchen oven in the Hunter Ridge Apartments complex in Orland Hills Monday afternoon complex sent one person to the hospital. The extent of the person's injuries weren't yet known Monday night. One other person was evaluated by paramedics but not hospitalized.
Firefighters responded to a kitchen fire around 4 p.m. and found the fire had ignited and burned out from an oven. Damage was limited to the oven, a spokesman for the Orland Fire Protection District said. Surrounding apartment units were also checked for damage.
An official cause wasn't available Monday night, but fire officials said to "be careful with cleaning products around a gas appliance."
