Mental Health Crisis Prompts Large Police, Fire Presence At Orland Mall
A man was taken from the scene in an ambulance, police told Patch.
ORLAND PARK, IL — A large police and fire presence at Orland Square Mall Thursday morning was in response to a person suffering a mental health crisis, police told Patch.
Police and fire crews were on the scene at the mall, 288 Orland Square Dr., as of 11:15 a.m., department announced on social media.
Police, who said there was no threat to the public, told Patch a man was taken from the scene in an ambulance.

“Earlier today, Orland Park Police and Orland Fire Protection District personnel responded to a male experiencing a mental health crisis at Orland Square Mall,” according to a statement from police. “The individual was transported to a local hospital for care. Out of respect for the individual’s privacy, their family, and the sensitive nature of the situation, no further details will be released at this time.”
