Explore Creative and Tech Skills at the Library's October Computer Classes

This October, the Orland Park Public Library is offering a robust lineup of hands-on computer classes designed to help patrons develop skills in digital creativity, crafting technology, and everyday tech basics. Whether you're just starting out or ready to take your abilities to the next level, our friendly, expert instructors are here to guide you.
All classes are free and open to the public. Registration is required as space is limited.

iPhone Basics, Friday, Oct. 3 at 11 a.m., This lecture-style class will cover basic functions of iPhones, including checking for updates and how to navigate your device. Limit:20. Registration Opens: Sept. 15.
Canva Intermediate, Saturday, Oct. 4 at 11 a.m., In this intermediate hands-on class, we will dive deeper into creating graphic designs including videos, animations, and presentations. Limit:16. Registration Opens: Sept. 15.

Android Basics, Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m., Learn the basics of the Android operating system running on billions of phones and tablets around the world in this lecture-style class. We will cover basic setup, functions, how to install/manage apps, settings, and more. Limit:20. Registration Opens: Sept. 15.
iPhone Intermediate, Friday, Oct. 10 at 11 a.m., This lecture-style class will build off the iPhone Basics class and go over iPhone functions such as password protection, Screen mirroring, Calendar, Bluetooth, and much more. Limit:20. Registration Opens: Sept. 15.
MacBook Basics, Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m., In this lecture-style class, we will take a basic look at navigating on a MacBook Air or Pro. You may bring your own MacBook. Limit:20. Registration Opens: Sept. 15.
iPad Basics, Thursday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m., In this lecture-style class, we will take a basic look at navigating your Apple iPad. You may bring your own iPad. Limit:20. Registration Opens: Sept. 15.
Microsoft Word Basics, Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m., Discover the basics of Microsoft Word, including navigation through the application and basic features in this hands-on class. Limit:16. Registration Opens: Sept. 15.
Halloween Cricut and Glowforge Project, Sunday, Oct. 26 at 2:30 p.m., In this class, you will use the Glowforge and Cricut machines to create a take-home Halloween project. Previous Glowforge and Cricut experience or having taken our Glowforge and Cricut Basics classes are required to participate in this project class. Limit:6. Registration Opens: Sept. 15.
Microsoft Word Intermediate, Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m., In this intermediate hands-on class, we will look at how to create labels and use mail merge to speed up the mass sending of personalized mailings. Limit:16. Registration Opens: Sept. 15.

The library is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
