The Orland Park Public Library is thrilled to announce that it will be hosting a special presentation by the Citizens Utility Board (CUB) on energy choices and efficiency programs. The event, scheduled for Thursday, May 30 at 6 p.m., will provide residents with valuable insights into managing their utility bills while making environmentally conscious decisions.

The upcoming presentation at Orland Park Public Library will delve into various topics, including understanding utility bills, navigating alternative supplier options, and maximizing energy efficiency. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with CUB representatives, ask questions, and learn practical tips for reducing utility costs while supporting clean energy initiatives.

Established in 1983 by the Illinois General Assembly in response to overwhelming support from local referendums, CUB has been a steadfast advocate for utility customers across Illinois. With a mission to fight for consumer rights, CUB has saved Illinois consumers an astounding $20 billion since opening its doors in 1984. Through strategic advocacy, rate case challenges, and legislative initiatives, CUB has consistently delivered significant savings to households and businesses statewide.

At the heart of CUB's mission is education and empowerment. Through hundreds of events annually, CUB's outreach team educates consumers on energy efficiency, alternative suppliers, utility billing issues, and financial assistance opportunities. Additionally, CUB's Consumer Advocacy Department handles thousands of inquiries, providing personalized assistance to consumers in need.

"We're excited to partner with the Citizens Utility Board to bring this important presentation to our community," said Library Director Mary Adamowski. "Energy affordability and sustainability are critical concerns for residents, and we believe that empowering individuals with knowledge and resources is key to addressing these challenges."
