Listen to Banned Books Being Read at Orland Park Library

Imagine a world where “The Lorax” and “Little House on the Prairie” were considered problematic enough to be banned from schools.

That world actually is actually the one in which we live.

According to Orland Park Public Library Public Information Coordinator Bridget Bittman, Dr. Seuss’ colorful critique of industrialism and Laura Ingalls Wilder’s classic both have been banned in school libraries elsewhere in the country.

In light of this, and other unnecessarily banned books, the Orland Park Public Library will be doing live readings of books found on such banned lists.

Readings will happen between 9:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. at the library, 14921 S. Ravinia Ave.
