ORLAND PARK, IL — The Village of Orland Park announces its highly anticipated summer concert featuring 80’s classic rock bands Loverboy and Jefferson Starship. The concert series opens Sat., Aug. 24 at Orland Park’s 12-acre Centennial Park West located at Park Station Boulevard and Somerglen Lane.

The resident-only ticket presale begins June 14 and runs through June 23, and tickets can be bought at the Village of Orland Park Sportsplex at 11351 W. 159th St., or at the Frederick T. Owens Village Hall at 14700 Ravinia Ave. Tickets for admission are $30 each. Regular ticket sales begin on June 24 and are open to residents and guests alike.

Loverboy, a fan favorite, has performed for audiences around the world for more than 40 years, sharing hits such as “Working for the Weekend,” “Turn Me Loose,” “This Could Be the Night,” and many more. They released their album “Get Lucky” in 1981 and it became their best-selling album in the U.S., reaching No. 7 on the Billboard album charts and selling more than 4 million copies. That year, Loverboy received six Juno Awards (Canada's highest award for music), a record that still stands today. They were recognized as one of the top five grossing touring acts in the world.

Between 1974 and 1984, musical powerhouse Jefferson Starship released eight gold and platinum selling albums, 20 hit singles and sold out concerts worldwide with hits “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now,” “Jane,” “We Built this City,” and others.

Local band 4CAST will perform at 4:30 p.m. The park will open at 3 p.m. for those wishing to claim their spots on the lawn early. There will be no admittance before 3 p.m.

Attendees are invited to bring blankets and chairs for lawn seating at the event, as well as picnic items and coolers. Although outside refreshments will be allowed, refreshments also will be available for purchase at the event. Attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs, picnics, coolers and blankets. Large bags and coolers will be inspected upon entrance into the venue.

In order to offer unobstructed views of the performances, tents, large umbrellas or any structure that would prevent a clear view of the stage are NOT allowed. Also prohibited are weapons of any kind, recreational scooters (those used for mobility purposes are allowed), bicycles, roller blades/skates and pets.

The first concert was held at Centennial Park West in 2011 and has hosted many local area cover bands, as well as Chicago’s premier concert and event orchestra, City Lights Orchestra.
