Meet the Artist: Judi Boehner at the Library This August
Celebrate the beauty of animals and nature through the vivid colored pencil drawings of local artist Judi Boehner during a special evening.

The library invites local residents to "Meet the Artist" and experience the captivating work of Judi Boehner, whose exhibition Nature Sketches is on display throughout the month of August on the library’s second floor.
The library is holding a special "Meet the Artist" event on Friday, Aug. 8 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the library’s Gallery Wall upstairs. Local residents are invited to meet Judi Boehner in person, learn more about her process, and enjoy an evening surrounded by her stunning colored pencil drawings. Light refreshments will be served.
Boehner, a lifelong artist, presents a series of detailed pieces that highlight her deep appreciation for animals and nature. Her work blends technical precision with heartfelt storytelling, capturing the unique personality of each animal she portrays. Though she has been drawing and painting for most of her life, Boehner discovered needle felting six years ago, sparking a new artistic journey. What began as a simple online search for toys led her to a technique that allowed her to sculpt wool into lifelike animals, a process that perfectly complements her passion for bringing creatures to life through art.

"I am fascinated with the world of animals and amazed at the wisdom they can impart to humanity, if only we are open to learning,” Boehner shares. “I attempt to tell their stories by capturing their individual personalities, along with the wonder and diversity of their beauty. Adding humor or sentimentality hopefully brings a little moment of joy to the viewer in a way that expresses my gratitude in sharing the planet with these amazing creatures."
Nature Sketches will be on display throughout August during regular library hours. For more information, please contact the library at (708) 428-5110 or visit orlandparklibrary.org.
