Missing Orland Park Woman, 21, Took Own Life: Medical Examiner
An autopsy has determined that Reanna Hammad's death was self-inflicted.
ORLAND PARK, IL — A missing Orland Park woman whose body was found in a forest preserve Sunday morning took her own life, the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has determined.
The body of Reanna Hammad, 21, was found on a walking trail in Spears Woods Sunday morning, Cook County Forest Preserve Director of Communications Carl Vogel said. No foul play was suspected in her death, Vogel said at the time.
An autopsy conducted on Monday ruled that her death was self-inflicted, according to records.

The Prayer Center of Orland Park shared words of grief and comfort in an announcement that Hammad's body had been found. Mosque leaders had organized a group of 40 volunteers to search for Hammad on foot in the preserve near Willow Springs and Palos Township, Patch has learned.
"First, may God have mercy on the girl and grant her a place in His spacious gardens, and grant her family patience and solace," the Center posted on social media. "This is one of the most difficult situations any family can experience, and mere speculation about the cause of death is a torment in itself, in addition to the loss. We ask God to grant them steadfastness, patience, and certainty. Amen.

"Second, there's no need to spread false and inaccurate information on social media. We await the circumstances of the incident and the results of the investigation.
"Third, this is a message to every girl or even young man: Yes, it's true, in general, our areas are safe, but we cannot neglect caution and security measures!
"Do not go anywhere without the knowledge of your family. Always keep the GPS feature on your phone activated with a family member.
"Never, ever go places alone, whether girls or boys, always be with a friend or more.
"Finally, ask God Almighty for mercy for this girl and for her family to be granted Sabr and Yaqeen."
Hammad had last been seen by her mother at her home in unincorporated Palos Township around 11 a.m. Friday, according to a news release from the Cook County Sheriff's Office. Police believe Hammad may have been in the vicinity of Spears Woods — near West 87th Street and South LaGrange Road — later on Friday.
Orland Park Police on Sunday offered condolences for the family.
"The Orland Park Police Department expresses our deepest condolences to the family of Reanna Hammad of unincorporated Palos Township," the department said.
Services for Hammad have been set for Tuesday, May 20. A funeral prayer will be held at 1:20 p.m., at Mosque Foundation Community Center, 7260 W 93rd St. in Bridgeview. Burial will follow at Muslim Ummah Cemetery. Azza will be held from 6 to 10 p.m., at Orland Park Prayer Center, 16530 104th Ave.
