ORLAND PARK, IL — Village officials gathered Monday to cut the ribbon on Pomp & Chic Boutiques new storefront at Orland Park Crossing. The location is the first brick and mortar setting for the new local business, which won the spot through the Edwards Realty Pop Local program.

According to the boutique's owners, Nicole Cummens and Victoria Wisniewski, the business won three months of free rent at the space through the Pop Local program. The contest judged almost 30 applicants through a community vote and a panel of judges.

Ramzi Hassan, president of Edward's Realty Company, said the program is meant to give small businesses the opportunity to test out their products at a set location instead of pop-up shops and online.

Pomp & Chic describes itself as a "one-stop shop" for chic style and fashion. The store caters to women, specifically moms, who want to shop with body positivity and self-confidence in mind.

"As moms, we lose our identity when we have kids," said Nicole Cummens, CEO of Pomp & Chic Boutique. "It's so easy to get sucked into this mental state that we aren't enough. The Pop Local program is going to allow us to connect with women face to face and help them find outfits that make them feel confident and empowered."

Both Cummens and Wisniewski are mothers of two. Cummens decided to open the store in February of 2021 as a result of the pandemic.
