No Injuries In Apartment Fire, Cause Under Investigation: Orland Fire

The fire happened in a multi-unit building in the 14400 block of Jefferson Avenue Thursday, officials said.

ORLAND PARK, IL — No one was injured in an Orland Park apartment fire Thursday, officials said.

Officials are investigating the cause of the fire that burned the kitchen in one unit of an apartment building, but suspect it may be related to the unit's oven, according to a release.

The fire was reported at around 11 am on Thursday, Sept. 11, in the multi-family dwelling at the 14400 block of Jefferson Avenue.

Firefighters who arrived at the scene minutes after the 911 call found smoke coming from the building and quickly deployed hoses to extinguish the fire that was located in the kitchen.

The fire was contained to the unit of origin in the building.

No injuries were reported.

Orland Firefighters were assisted by the Palos Fire Protection District and the Tinley Park Fire Department.
