Orland Fire Protection District Promotes Two Firefighters
Firefighters James Schultz and Eric Petravich were promoted on Thursday, Nov. 6.

ORLAND PARK, IL — Two firefighters were promoted by the Orland Fire Protection District during ceremonies administered by the Orland Fire Commission at a meeting held on Thursday, Nov. 6, the district said in a release.
Firefighter James Schultz was promoted to the rank of engineer and Eric Petravich was promoted to the rank of lieutenant.
OFPD Fire Chief Kevin Doyle opened the meeting of the fire commission, which includes commissioners Matt Rafferty, Brian O’Neill and Mohammed Jaber.

Fire District Chaplain John Vogel offered an invocation during the ceremony.


The oath of office was administered to each of the firefighters by Commissioner Jaber, and the families of the firefighters pinned their new badges during the ceremony.

Operations Chief Nicholas Tufts gave a little background into the qualities that will make Engineer Schultz and Lieutenant Petravich successful in their new roles. Lieutenant Tom Tonra of the Palos Fire Department delivered the conferment speech on behalf of Lieutenant Petravich.
“This was a great ceremony which recognized the hard work these gentlemen have done for the Orland Fire Protection District which led to their promotions,” Jaber said.
“We are very proud of each of them and all of our firefighters.”
