Fire Damages Orland Home Sunday

Firefighters squelched flames Sunday afternoon that left an Orland Hills home damaged but its residents unscathed.

The Orland Fire Protection District responded around 1:25 p.m. to a 911 call about a house fire in the 8800 block of Meadowview Lane. They arrived to find heavy smoke coming from inside, according to a news release, and were able to swiftly minimize the damage.

"A quick response to the fire limited the damage to the garage area of the home where the fire is believed to have started," the release says.

The fire remained under investigation Sunday evening.
