Orland Mall Will Be Closed Thanksgiving Day: Simon Property Group
The real estate investment said given the pandemic circumstances, Simon will not open properties on Thanksgiving Day.

ORLAND PARK, IL â Thanksgiving Day shopping at the mall in Orland Park will not be available this year. Simon Property Group, the owners of Orland Square Mall, announced in September that they will be closing all locations on Thanksgiving Day, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
"In these challenging times, we made the decision that we will not open on Thanksgiving Day, instead allowing our associates to spend the holiday with their loved ones," said David Simon, chairman, chief executive officer and president of Simon.

The closings are likely good news to health officials, who are urging people to forego the usual Thanksgiving celebrations with large gatherings and to maintain social distance to stem the spread of coronavirus.
