Orland Park Continues Green Electric Aggregation Program

ORLAND PARK, IL — Orland Park is continuing its Electric Aggregation Program with MC Squared Energy Services, LLC. According to the village, following the passage of a 2012 voting referendum, Orland Park contracted to procure electric supply in bulk for residents and small business owners, which would had households and small businesses save a cumulative $7 million.

The village announced on Facebook that it is continuing the Electric Aggregation Program, and that notices were mailed out last week to residents. According to the village, the cost of serving each electric account varies based on usage patterns. Some ratepayer accounts were switched to ComEd because the cost of generation for the usage profile exceeds the ComEd rate. Others were switched MC, but all pay exact same ComEd rate, including ComEd’s monthly variable PEA component, according to the village.

MC purchases green energy for the village on behalf of ratepayers in the Orland Park Aggregation Community, whether moved to ComEd supply or to MC2, according to the village.
