Orland Park Hires Assistant Village Manager
The Village of Orland Park has hired Barrington's director of development services Greg Summers as its new assistant village manager.

ORLAND PARK, IL — The Village of Orland Park has hired Barrington's director of development services Greg Summers as its new assistant village manager.
Summers, an 11-year employee of Barrington, replaces deputy police chief Joseph Mitchell, who has filled the role on an interim basis since April. Karie Friling, who served as Orland's assistant manager and director of development services, left in March to become Homer Glen's village manager.
"We think he'll be a wonderful employee," said Tom Dubelbeis, Orland's interim village manager.

"I am excited to bring my 15-plus years of government experience to a large and exciting community," he said. "Orland is such a major anchor of the south suburbs."

"There's a lot of exciting opportunities with the changes that are occurring," Summers added.

He begins the position July 15.
Orland officials are still searching for village manager candidates and have said they believe the process will take longer than expected.
