Orland Park To Host Ceremony, Reflection In Honor Of Memorial Day

Officials said the event will take place at the Ara Pace Place of Peace outside Village Hall and feature speakers and time for reflection.

ORLAND PARK, IL —The village is hosting a ceremony to honor troops this Memorial Day, May 30.

Officials said the event will take place at the Ara Pace Place of Peace memorial which is just outside Village Hall. The ceremony will feature speakers and time for reflection and begins at 1 p.m.

"Summer parties wouldn't be possible without the brave men and women who fought to protect our way of life and the things we love," a spokesperson for the village wrote in an announcement.

Ara Pace, located at 14700 South Ravinia Avenue, is the site of Veteran's Day memorials as well.

Shortly after, officials from Orland Park and Tinley Park will team up to donate food and other items to active military personnel. Non-perishable donations will be accepted on Friday, June 3 at the Apple Chevrolet in Tinley Park.
