Terminally Ill Orland Park Mom 'Goes To Ends Of World' For Kids

ORLAND PARK, IL— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your Mom extra special?

My mom. The fighter. The warrior. The person that keeps our family sane and together. What makes this woman here so special is because despite the fact that she is sick and suffering a terminal illness, she keeps going! She pushes through! Looking at my mom, you could NEVER tell that she is as sick as she is. Her world revolves around her grandchildren and making sure they have many memories with her. I have seen this woman at some really weak moments, but she comes out stronger than ever. I am proud to be her daughter!

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

My mom deserves the spotlight because she knows that she is loved and appreciated, but after losing her brother in December of 2022 she is struggling to grieve properly. She has more bad days than good days and sometimes all a mother really needs to know and hear is that she is amazing, and she is doing an amazing job and to keep going! Despite her illness she goes to the end of the world for her kids and grandkids, making it seem like she is perfectly healthy even on her worst days. She is loved and appreciated more than anything in this world. Keep going mommy! Keep fighting! ❤️
